The students had an amazing day! We kicked off the race walking to the field with our class banner in hand. Everyone was pumped up to run their laps. For every lap, they got a mark on their shirt. They ran and ran and they weren't quitting. Lots of students went beyond their goal of 35 laps. Then, they signed each other's shirt and had lunch at the picnic tables.
We want to thank the parents that came today and helped us out. A special thanks to Ms. Erica Wilson for providing the students with popsicles. It was a hit! In case you missed it, here are some pictures.

FUN RUN IS TOMORROW
Our Fun Run is finally here! Students have been visited daily in their class by their Coach and learning about important character traits. We've been putting the stickers in their planners to remind them of the day's lesson.
Tomorrow 4th grade is scheduled to attend the event from 11:30-12:30 p.m. We will postpone their lunch until 12:30 p.m due to a conflict with their lunch schedule. Parents, if you come and you are a processed volunteer, you can stay and eat with your child. We'll eat at the picnic tables, if they're available.
I will take lots of pictures and post as soon as possible.

4th grade Winter Dual Language Program was a hit!
We want to thank all the parents, family members, and friends that came to see the children. We appreciate you stopping by the office first to sign in to get your Visitor's Pass. A special thanks to Ms. Erica Wilson and Ms. Shaquandra Daniels for such a lovely table full of goodies to eat.
In the last month, students learned a lot about biography research and had a blast preparing for their performances. We applaud all your support and will continue to strive to offer your children the best education that the Dual Language Program can offer. We hope to see you soon.

Tour of our own class Science Fair
On Friday, the students all placed their projects on their desks and we had our own Science Fair. They had a blast! Although their projects will be on display at the fair on Thursday, only the 5th graders will get judged. Mrs. Ryan and I already judged the projects and have chosen the top 3 winners. Everyone else will receive a Certificate of Recognition. We want to say that were impressed at how amazing they turned out. Congratulations to all the students for all your hard work!!! WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU!!! CLICK PLAY:

Our Helpers on the Job
Everyone wants to help. That is our way of PAYING IT FORWARD. What does that mean? Think about it. If the teacher teaches you something and then you teach someone else and that person does the same, wouldn't that make you a student and a teacher that feels good about themselves because you helped someone? That's a great character trait to have. Go Corina and Matthew!

Does it really MATTER?
Students have been learning about MATTER. Mrs. Ryan has been teaching them all about SOLIDS, LIQUIDS, and GASES while Ms. Lopez bridges in English.
During recess, students have been blowing balloons to see how a GAS can fill an object and take up space even though you can't see it. Ironically, some of the balloons popped and the students decided to have a BALLOON FUNERAL!!! Hilarious!!! We had a brief ceremony and Ms. Lopez sang "Amazing Grace."
